Ever since Volume Limit was replaced by Reduce Loud Sounds (which was like 3 or 4 years ago), the volume level of my non-apple headphones resets every time they connect to my iPhone, instead of remembering the volume I set it to.

I don’t care about any of these new features in iOS 18. I just want dumb old bugs to be fixed.

Have you reported it to Apple?

Idek what version of the beta I am because it’s so fragmented like android phones.

Extremely happy to say — I have no idea what android software updates are like)))

The look isn't that much different, but the way it works makes a lot more sense to me. I've been using it for about a week now and love it.

Good to hear. It doesn’t look much different to me either but I’ve not had hands on. Will be updating my Mac and iPhone on these current betas to start testing this stuff out tonight. It’s near enough that I’m not too concerned with any bugs I’ve heard about.

I’ve dealt with worse on production builds in the last few years.

I haven't tried the Mac yet, and tbh I don't think I'm going to install a beta on it, as it's my powerhouse/workhorse w/e. I did consider installing a virtual machine, might do so when I have time to test the iPhone screen sharing feature.

Just add a gps - localization on/off switch in control center. I don't get it why this has not been implemented yet.

A hot mess.

There are android phones being sold in 2024 that are running android 12 (keep in mind android 15 is the newest version).

Then it depends on what android brand you buy, the phone itself (budget phones never get updated) and where you buy it from lmao

Apple Intelligence doesn’t work for me anymore in Europe. Didn’t change a thing and it shows as not supported in my region. All set to US.

Does the Home Bar line at the bottom of every app qualify as a "distraction"?

Please give us a setting to turn that off.

As far as I know, it's only possible with a wifi-only iPad, using a mobile wifi hotspot (mobile so that it isn't associated with any geolocation), and no other wifi networks in sight. And you have to "reset location & privacy" in Settings. Effectively, you have to deny any of iOS' geolocation facilities that are based on wifi/cellular.

Is this in the Known Issues document? Have you submitted a bug report if not? The Feedback Assistant app is the easiest way, and you can see if Apple engineers know about the issue and are working on it, as well as send subsequent info like diagnostic logs, screenshots, etc.

I fail to see why it was added when seems no different to the other one unless it’s a bug not turning Bluetooth on and on

You really need to correct this article. If you bought your iPhone or iPad in Europe, you cannot use Apple Intelligence. Setting it for US, even using VPN, won't work.

Yes it does. Apart from setting region, language en sirilanguage to US you also need a US Apple ID for Media & Purchases. Working on any EU iPhone/iPad

Does this mean that videos my mom sends me of my kids (iPhone->Android) will actually be watchable and not ridiculously pixelated to the point of being indiscernable, as they are now?

I’m not sure you understand what fragmentation is. And based on most of the responses in this thread, people forget they are using beta software that is literally intended to be used for testing to weed out problems. Good news is this is most of the world, so Apple is at least hitting target use cases.

The 18.1 Beta-2 is a much better build than the Beta-1 for me. The Beta-1 was clunky. I could almost watch screen draws. Siri was hit or miss. CarPlay was kinda mess and the battery life was for caca.

All are improved on the Beta-2 so far.
