Important Powder Coating Note

Powder coating is a manual process done by humans and may take some time. When you purchase powder coated products from AAL, we coat them for your order. Occasionally, that means delays with non-standard colors, resprays for less-than-perfect conditions, etc. We have a very high standard with powder coated products. We will work to get your parts coated in the best condition possible before they leave the building.

Please visit our Powder Coating Page for more info.

M.A.S.S. – Modular Adaptable Storage System – Platform

This the main component of our Jeep JK overland product line.

This is the base platform to our M.A.S.S. system. The is made out of 11 gauge (0.120″) aluminum and is laser cut for extreme precision. We hold a repeatable .005″ tolerance on all cuts for this platform.

NOTE: This version of the M.A.S.S. platform will ONLY fit the JKU (4 Door) or the 2-Door with the seats removed.

Secured Cargo Platform

This platform is extremely functional as a standalone product. It is very helpful in securing items in the cargo area. It is also extremely light weight and properly supported underneath using the three fabricated support beams.

The platform connects to the Jeep JKU using the six existing threaded bungs in the body and 4 additional rivet nuts (rivet nuts are provided and will need to be installed). Bolt heads are recessed into the platform to ensure a smooth loading and unloading surface.

Standard L-Track Pattern

The pattern cut into the platform is standard the L-Track pattern. This means that most off the shelf L-Track connectors work with this platform. We offer several connector options for tie down hooks, threaded studs, etc.

The rows and columns of the connector pattern is specifically built to attach our M.A.S.S. platform accessories.

First, the product arrived a few weeks after ordering. It was nice to be able to see where it was in the process. The box initially arrived a bit damaged and torn, but the parts inside were well wrapped and protected. Also…bonus for using paper instead of those annoying peanuts.

Install: Install was very straight forward. Granted it is not complex, but the instructions were well written and easy to follow. I would suggest having the correct hardware ahead of time and maybe post it in the description here on the website. Be sure you have a 23/64 drill bit. I also purchased a rivet nut tool to make the install of those WAY easier.

Post Install: I noticed my plastic tray that holds my door bolts wouldn’t fit unless I trimmed it. If you want to re-use this be sure you trim it before putting the platform on. I will eventually take my platform off again to do some more trimming so I can slide that plastic part out to access the jack compartment, but that’s no big deal. I also got some stainless L track round rings on Amazon and they work great for tie down points.

Communication and Customer Service: I can’t say enough how impressed I am with American Adventure Lab. What a world we live in when I can call the company and someone answers the phone and can update me about my order status. They are active on Instagram and I love the interaction I have had with them and see they have with other customers.

I will continue to look for products for my JKU through American Adventure Lab due to the quality of their hardware and their amazing customer service.

I started looking for a base as I knew I wanted to add a fridge to the JKU. I originally looked at another company that uses plywood until I came across this from AAL. The differences are night and day and the quality is second to no other offering out there. There just isn’t anything that can compare. The amount of personalization you get with this base, the possibilities are endless. Install was pretty straightforward. I end up trimming my factory plastic tray that goes underneath and it is really difficult to see that it’s even modified. The base plate is the perfect start to any setup you are considering for the rear of your JKU.
